Interactive Educational VR Software

Interactive Educational VR Software – For the University of Debrecen’s Department of Mechanical Engineering

We have developed a virtual reality-based educational software for the University of Debrecen’s Department of Mechanical Engineering to support student training and showcase the department. The program aims to present the assembly process of a steering system in an interactive and visually engaging way while leveraging VR technology to enhance modern engineering education.

In the software, users learn to navigate the VR environment and assemble the steering system step by step within a realistic virtual laboratory setting. Throughout the experience, a robotic arm delivers individual components, while a transparent template guides the assembly sequence. At the end of the process, the system evaluates performance and optionally displays information about enrollment opportunities at the University of Debrecen’s Faculty of Engineering.

Development Steps:
  • Defining Objectives & Functionality – Establishing the goals and features of the VR-based educational software
  • Virtual Environment Development – Creating detailed 3D models of the steering system and laboratory environment
  • Programming & Development – Implementing the software’s core mechanics in Unity
  • Testing & Optimization – Verifying functionality using HTC Vive Pro
  • Deployment & Documentation – Installing the final VR software and providing user documentation for the department, along with preparing future development and update options
